Vegetables of the sea: A crazy gamble
The Vegetables of the Sea project was born within the Savéol group. It was thanks to a think-tank linked to new consumption methods and innovations, made up of vegetable growers and employees reflecting on changes in consumption patterns, that we launched the “Vegetables of the Sea” project. With the help of Savéol's technical services, I have begun growing greenhouse samphire!
Supported by this team and a Belgian seed producer, I decided to experiment with the cultivation of samphire, a vegetable of the sea. This adventure had never been undertaken, and in the absence of an established method, I needed a great deal of imagination and tenacity in order overcome the challenge. But, as we say: We learn by planting ourselves!
In the process, I developed other marine plants. In Brittany, the pull of the sea is never far away...
