Anne GUÉGUEN
An animal : A cat both tame and wild, majestic like my Burmese cat Lady.
One flower : A freesia, I really like their smell.
A cooked dish: crêpes.
A colour : Pink, it’s flattering
A song : « La robe et l’échelle » by Francis Cabrel. This song reminds me of childhood and that “wild” age when we climbed walls and built club houses with friends.
An actor : Jonnhy Depp.
A successful change of direction
Having spent 15 years in the banking sector, I took a decisive step in 2010 by educating myself in agriculture and then by setting myself up as the head of a hectare and a half of greenhouse. My brother, a vegetable grower, gave me the taste for the job and supported me in this project that some people thought was ‘crazy’. I have seized the opportunity to extend the family business, which currently has 5.5 hectares of greenhouses and employs 35 people.
Jean-Yves deals with all technical and agricultural management. For my part, I am responsible for managing the human and financial resources of the company that we have created jointly to optimise production resources. We complement each other well, and above all are passionate about our profession. Growing beautiful tomatoes for a renowned brand like Savéol is a demanding daily challenge.
We need to be versatile, organised, have a good understanding of technology and management, challenge ourselves and innovate to serve consumers. I very much appreciate the contact with plants as well as the independence of being my own boss.
